Hi, I'm Kevin Wood I am known throughout the real estate world as "The Real Estate Rebel" and for a very good reason! I was a top selling real estate salesman for a large company and eventually went on to getting my brokers license and opening two real estate offices in a very short period of time. I considered myself a real estate professional in every sense of the word and bent over backwards to help my clients whether they were buying or selling a home. I conducted my business with hard work and honesty and built up a loyal clientele. 

As you can imagine I was very proud of myself and the knowledge I was gaining, but something just kept bugging and bugging me. You probably already know that when people sell a home, there are usually two different sales offices involved. The listing office and the other real estate office that actually found the buyer. Rarely does the listing company end up as the one who finds the buyer.

As a broker I had several sales people working for me and I also got the chance to work with many others from different real estate offices throughout the city. I have met many hard working industrious, ethical and truly caring people working in this industry. Unfortunately, in my opinion, those competent, and hard working individuals are in the minority.

The vast majority, in my opinion, are sloppy when it comes to doing the required paper work to complete a sale, and they walk around with this why-should-I-care-attitude.  I've heard it said, over and over again "I listed it, let someone else sell it".   That's just one of the many things that used to bug me! This is not the way to treat a client who has signed a contract to pay you 1000's of dollars when their home is sold. Not very professional at all, but it happens all of the time in this industry and it was driving me crazy.

I even encountered sales people who would try and get a listing for as long as possible and the sit back and wait for someone else to find a buyer. These people are referred to as "LISTers", and all they want is for you to sign a listing, and then, as far as they are concerned...their job is done! While you and your spouse sit back and think this sales person is out finding you a buyer.  He is really out there hunting for other listings!

There are even "professional List'ers" as I like to call them because they have received their real estate licence and they still have a full time job doing whatever they do. These people spend their weekends getting listings and receive a commission when someone else makes the sale. They are not acting in your best interest, and looking for a buyer themselves.

Over time I grew so very disgusted with the business and some of the unprofessional people involved in it, that I decided to do something else with my life that wasn't as stressful on me. And I'm glad that I did! What I am doing now allows me to continue helping my former clients and also I am helping 1000's of others all over the world that I never would have met in my old life.

I have taken all the knowledge that I attained by working in the industry and wrote everything down in a workable manual I call "fsbo" or "for sale by owner" tips.  People that have had the opportunity to read the manual are learning how to save more money than they ever thought possible, and also a complete understanding about real estate, then any other person they know.
